Latin Flares Coming to Audubon Zoo

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated during the month of September and to honor this Audubon Zoo will host a special day dedicated to Latin American flavors, music and wildlife on September 24th.

There will be a DJ and tons of vendors selling Latin cuisine. Patrons will visit the highlighted animals including jaguars, alpacas, spider monkeys, tapirs, ocelots, and prehensile-tailed porcupines. You can see Muevelo, Julio y Cesar, Los Guiros and DJ Felipe Estrada. There will also be conservation programs and activities.

The day-long event will be called Celebracion Latina. The food will include small bites, drinks and desserts. Some of the participating vendors include Mais Arepas, La Michoacana, Norma’s Sweets Bakery, Que Rico, Empanola and more.

Included in the ticket, will be the fun runs, admission to the zoo and all the special activities. The event will be from 10am – 5pm on September 24, 2023. This event is presented by Pan-American Insurance Group and is free for Audubon Nature Institute Members.
